Amanda McQuade Crawford, Registered Herbalist (AHG), MFT, Dip. Phyto., MCPP, practiced as a Consultant Medical Herbalist for decades before she expanded her practice and became a licensed therapist (MFT). She graduated from Britain’s College of Phytotherapy, is a Member of the National Institute of Medical Herbalists in Great Britain, a founding member of the American Herbalists Guild, and a consultant in the natural products industry. She continues to serve the American Herbal Pharmacopoeia as a Review Panelist and the American Botanical Council as an Advisory Board Member.
For the 2023 Ojai Herbal Symposium, Amanda will share a keynote presentation entitled “Botanical Medicine for Common Cardiovascular Concerns.”
She is the author of two books on women’s health: Herbal Remedies for Women (Harmony Books, 1997) and The Natural Menopause Handbook (Crossing Press, 2009). Both are available online and in selected bookstores. She contributes chapters to academic texts such as The H.E.R.B.A.L. Guide: Evidence-Based Dietary Supplement Resources for the Clinician, and Botanical Medicine for Women’s Health, among others.
Amanda has studied healing traditions in other countries while living and working as a clinician abroad. Now she practices at PhytoHumana as an herbalist and therapist in Ventura and Ojai, California.
